Digital Forensic Analyst
Job Description:
- Provide e-Discovery services in support of internal investigations and intrusion incidents for (internal and external) Legal teams by conducting and performing comprehensive forensic investigations and examinations of computer- and network-based digital evidenceа
- Perform complex, large-scale digital forensic / eDiscovery examinations throughout the entire lifecycle (i.e., case planning, intake, acquisition, examination, presentation and disposition) utilizing validatedаforensic software (e.g. EnCase) for investigations in live client-server environments that have very tight deadlines.
- Utilize deep experience and a broad knowledge of advanced computer technologies to conduct investigations, collect, and analyze digital evidence using automated forensic tools (e.g., EnCase, Forensic Toolkit, Paraben Suite,аKnoppix based tools, etc.) while being able to articulate, in detail, the processes being conducted by these automated forensic tools.а
- Apply the Federal Rules of Evidence (FRE) and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP) to the framework of an investigation or litigation and be able to testify and take testimony in civil, criminal, regulatory or administrative proceedings.
Skills:
4+ years overall experience with 1аyear conducting digital forensic investigations at the level across a variety of hardware and software architectures required.
Demonstrable experience in the forensic analysis of a wide variety of enterprise e-mail systems (e.g. Exchange, Lotus, etc.), archiving systems, and backup systems (e.g., should be able to manually reconstruct a RAID array)а
- Proven ability to provide technical guidance and assistance to legal staff while ensuring that proper precautions are taken in the preservation and prevention of spoliation of electronic evidence.
